July 9th Member Meeting
UPDATE: Member Meeting- Wednesday, July 9th
UPDATE!! On July 9, U.S. Congressman Sean Casten and Illinois State Rep LaShawn Ford will appear at our meeting as we discuss the impact of the recently enacted reconciliation bill (the so-called "Big Beautiful Bill") on our local areas and the state of Illinois.
You MUST RSVP to attend. Space is limited. Please RSVP HERE to join us.
Topics will include:
Key elements of the legislation, including effective dates for elements such as the huge spending increases in ICE enforcement, detention, and deportation as well as the Medicaid and SNAP work and recertification requirements.
How the law will impact the 6th Congressional District, Illinois' 8th House District, and the state of Illinois.
What those concerned about the effects of the legislation can do to minimize its impact and to further the fight against the Trump administration's regressive agenda and attack on democracy.
One Million Rising Trainings
Starting on Wednesday, July 16th - One Million Rising will launch an effort to train one million people in the strategic logic and practice of non-cooperation, as well as the basics of community organizing and campaign design. This is how we build people power that can’t be ignored. You’re invited to join in—and lead.

National Day of Action- July 17th
Good Trouble Lives On
Thursday, July 17th - Good Trouble Lives On is the next National Day of Action to respond to the attacks on our civil and human rights by the Trump administration. Honoring Congressman John Lewis, "Good Trouble" is the action of coming together to take peaceful, non-violent action to challenge injustice and create meaningful change. That’s why communities across the country will take to the streets, courthouses, and community spaces to carry forward his fight for justice, voting rights, and dignity for all. Our Ongoing Actions:
Postcards - Ongoing
Postcards will be available starting May 1st at 346 N. ASHLAND in LaGrange Park. They will be for elections in Virginia and New Jersey in bundles of 50 and 100, and will be sent in October. Volunteers are also needed to bundle postcards at the Postcards to Swing States headquarters in Burr Ridge and they are looking for people to host writing parties. Get more info and sign up to help out HERE.
Join our Witness Slip Team
Our group's Witness Slip Team is off to a great start! We combine efforts to let Illinois legislators know our support or opposition to a bill. The process is simple and makes an impact. Click the link below to join us. Once you join you will receive instructions and periodic emails that will require a quick turnaround to file a witness slip online.

Adopt a Local Board
Local government is crucial to our daily lives and immediate communities. We need folks who are willing to attend local meetings of Village Trustees, School Boards, Library Boards and so on, and keep our elected officials committee up to date on what's going on at the most local level, and hold our elected officials accountable. Sign up HERE to help!
We will also have a Zoom Meeting for folks interested in helping with this effort on Wednesday, June 18th at 7PM. If you would like to join this call to learn more you can email Abby at abbyindivisible@gmail.com.
Take Action- Texting Team
Our group will be piloting the use of texting to our members when a rapid response is needed for legislation, witness slips, protests, and any other immediate actions. Some of you may have volunteered for texting programs during the recent elections. If you would be interested in being a part of this effort, either helping to organize or in sending and moderating texts, email Jeanette at jiq@valeko.com for further information.
Project 2025 Tracker
The group Red Wine and Blue has created a Reality of Project 2025 website – a resource which not only explains how extremists are implementing this plan, but what we can do to stop it. We wanted to share this site to educate ourselves and continuously monitor this. You can check out the website here
